PART OF THE FAMILY SINCE 2019,

Our History

Goodnews Progressive Academy was founded in 2019 by Mr. Stephen Ateega, a passionate educationist with a vision to make quality education accessible to all children, regardless of their social or economic background. Located in Sumbrungu, Bolgatanga, the school was established to bridge the educational gap in the community by providing an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. Since its inception, Goodnews Progressive Academy has been committed to delivering a well-rounded education at an affordable cost. What started as a small institution has grown into a reputable center for academic excellence, nurturing young minds from Kindergarten to Primary level. Our goal is to expand further, establishing schools in at least six district capitals across the Upper East Region, with structured academic streams covering Pre-School, Primary, Junior High School (JHS), and Senior High School (SHS).

Guide To Parents

Kids typically start preschool between the ages of 3 and 4 years old. Some children may begin as early as age 2, depending on the program and the child’s readiness. Preschool helps children build social, emotional, and early learning skills in preparation for kindergarten.

Every child is different, so readiness is more about overall development than age.

The best age for starting Primary School typically ranges between 5 to 6 years old. In Ghana and many education systems, children: Start Kindergarten (KG1 & KG2) at around ages 4 and 5 Enter Primary 1 at about age 6
